For me, supermarkets have always been full of possibility. All those random bits and pieces with an infinite number of combinations – from last-minute nachos, to boeuf bourgignon – it's all there (I get a similar feeling in Bunnings, but obviously looking for a different outcome). I love going to supermarkets in other countries to see what they have, how it's packaged, and what it's called. A few examples of some of the crazy things we've found so far in Spanish supermarkets...
Today though, I went to the supermarket to beat all supermarkets. Not just beat them....make even the biggest Coles or Woolies at home look like an IGA Express. Carrefour 'Planet', Valencia, was amazing.
It had it's own phone shop (with multiple carriers), a multimedia area, a bookshop, a parapharmacy, a fish market, a kid's play area, it's own credit card/finance area, about 45 registers, and ladies and gentlemen, la piece de resistance..... the register manager wore roller skates. Yep....roller skates! Coolest thing I've ever seen!
It even had a space outside to charge your electric cars!
Ok, so my emails aren't working, so I'm going to start a campaign here to tell you to update your blog.
ReplyDeleteSo, update your blog. It's been almost 2 months since we've been updated with the worlds coolets supermarket, and things are seriously hinky if that is the highlight of the last 2 months!
