Beer, waffle, beer, chocolate, repeat.

We met Ross's parents in Brussels the weekend before last to see them before they returned to Australia.  They'd been in Europe for 6 weeks already, with two spent in London, and it was great to see them after so long.  Some highlights...

Getting the train to another country - blows my mind.  Eurostar, I heart you.
-
Seeing our German family who had made the trip from Aachen to spend the day with us - a very intense schedule of eating, trying a new beer, walking to the next place, sitting and trying another beer while we ate (why are we not spending another summer on the continent?!).

-
Gent - we only visited the caravan park and the university when we were there last year (surely top three, I would have thought), and after I'd seen more I felt pretty ripped off.  Stunning architecture is backdrop to gorgeous canals, promenades with people and bikes and people on bikes everywhere!

-
Stumbling upon a morning market selling fruit, pastries, cheese and coffee - breakfast of champions.

-
Brugge - where have you been all my life?  Hard to pick between Gent and Brugge - both are gorgeous, but Brugge a little more....quaint?  Beer gardens overlooking the canal - bliss!

-
Sad to say goodbye to Jan and Sam again, but a great weekend in a beautiful part of the world!
